An artistic path in progress
Yuina Miyahara grew up in Kumagaya, Saitama, and followed a focused path through music education in Japan before moving to Cologne, Germany, where she now studies at the University of Music and Dance Cologne.
02 · Formation
A musical education in Saitama and Tokyo
After attending the music department of Saitama Prefectural Omiya Koryo High School, she studied vocal music at Tokyo University of the Arts at undergraduate and graduate level. Her work there also included the university’s Bach Cantata Club, connecting solo singing with ensemble practice and sacred repertoire.
03 · Stage
From a first recital to opera
Her first solo recital took place in Tokyo in March 2022. Concert, song and operatic engagements followed, among them Musetta in La bohème, Mahler’s Rückert-Lieder and orchestral works by Beethoven and Mahler. In a 2023 interview she spoke of her wish to work as a singer in Germany.
04 · Germany
Continuing in Cologne
She studies at the University of Music and Dance Cologne (HfMT Köln) and is based in Cologne. In 2026, a cooperation between HfMT Köln and Theater Aachen brought her to the title role in Puccini’s Suor Angelica.
